Penang Photo Diary: Georgetown Wall Paintings

For tourists visiting Penang, I'm sure the Georgetown Wall Paintings hunt is surely is must-have activity on the list. It was a beautiful morning and we took on the adventure ourselves. :) I remember how ambitious, how ready we were to find all the paintings lol.

Pink and grey top- Mango // shorts and slippers- Cotton On // bag pack- Nike

We drove around beautiful Georgetown in search for the murals. But it was not as easy as expected. Drove round and round, parked and walked a long way- yet nothing.

We were on the verge of giving up and we were bout to drive off home, until we found this life-saving bicycle renting shop. The shopkeeper kindly gave me a map, with it the specific locations of all the wall painting. Life saver truly!

Do take note: The paintings are not gathered all at one spot and travelling on foot to all the painting (our initial plan) is not very practical. Also, make sure you do research before you start your mural hunting journey or else you'll go home disappointed. We were really lucky.

Some help here. You can find some paintings along these roads, among many others. :)

So happy to have found and got shots of these famous paintings. :)

As you can see, some of the walls are peeling off and the paintings are fading. What more, I heard that they are not preparing to restore the paintings. We may not have found all the paintings, but I still felt so lucky having the chance to witness these unique illegal creations by the very talented Ernest Zacharevic before they vanish.

The very famousdiner, China House, that is written as a must attraction on all the Penang Attractions webpages. Sadly, I did not get to try the place because Ah Kong wanted hawker. Aww, it's okay. :)

After the very tiring yet very satisfying hunting trip, we went to Queensbay Mall and then chilled by the seaside in the evening. :)

Haha i said this so many times like i'm a broken record but I can't emphasize enough. One thing I love love love about Penang - you can see the sea almost anywhere. :)

With all the love,
Kxin
