Penang Tour: Penang Hill + Stay at Hydro Hotel

The weekend before I flew back home after finals last sem, I went on a little domestic tour organized by Taylor's University's diploma students in the Tourism and Management Course. :)

Travelling companion this time round was Tim. :) He was my only friend this trip other than a new friend made, Liu.

Sad but true I don't really know people from the Tourism school. The group traveled in 2 buses and we departed from uni at 11.30pm Friday night. We drove thru the night and we had two compulsory stops along the way. I guess the stops helps the driver to stay awake and take a break but for us who were already fast asleep, they were torturing. Woke up once to eat roti canai and woke up the other time to eat McNuggets lol.

Our first stop upon reaching was Penang Hill. :)

I love anywhere with breezy weather. I miss Genting! Last time round I came to Penang Hill during the night, so it was nice to come here this time in the morning. But come to think of it, you wouldn't know the last time I came here was during the night because I just remembered that I didn't even finish blogging about my last trip lol my bad.

The organizers prepared breakfast for us. Noodles, sausages, nuggets, bread and kaya.

After the sunrise. :) Horrible hair after a long night and the steep Penang Hill train tracks while going back down.

Second stop was Kek Lok Si but this was the only picture I took there lol.

I was really fascinated (bewitched, if I may lol) by how cute the tortoises looked when they were rushing to be fed by visitors. And the way they munch on their vegetables made me laugh non-stop cuz it was damn cute!  Didn't bother to take pictures of the temple cuz I've visited and took pictures heh, read here

Accommodation for the trip was Hydro Hotel. :)

Lunch. Picture was my first round, and I made it a point to try all the cakes they had on the dessert counter. :)

Finally some rest! Couldn't see the sea from my room tho, sad case.

Dinner was great and the food at dinner was great. :D We were entertained by games and performances.

Good morning. :)

In the morning we took the ferry to Butterworth and went to visit an orphanage before heading home. :) Thank you Tim for bringing me along to support his juniors' project I had a good time!!

With Cousins

Skin looks good under this lighting so intro pic it is! And as the title suggests, this will be an outing post with my cousins when I was back in Kuching. :)

Loving my sheer printed top from Sungei Wang KL

Lil sis bev with her gorgeous ever-changing hair colour. :) Took an almost same angle pic to show that we don't look alike? Lol and the looking alike statement is made by almost everyone, only that she's the skinnier version *cries. I personally do not think so! She has higher nose bridge, bigger eyes and all that good stuff *cries.

With le pretty mama out for some ice before meeting up with cousins. :)

Had tea at Boardriders Cafe, Plaza Merdeka which is pretty new and pretty nice. :) Suggestion by Lydia and I was informed that the cafe is under the business of Quicksilver/Roxy, which explains the summery beach theme.

Three Layer Chocolate Cake, rm13.50. Rm13 was quite pricey for a small piece of cake but the quality was good.

Caramel Latte, rm11.50 and Chocolate Roll, rm3.50.

Yours truly, one with my pretties, and one with Warren. :)

Blurred in the background is my beloved Leon! Sad that I am not there through out the whole of his stay in Malaysia but at least we got to hang out more this time round as compared to last year. The last time he was back we only got to hang out for one day, read here, which was ridiculous!

Watched Red 2. Rate 6/10.

I rejected a few friends in watching this because I didn't watch Red 1, but who knew in the end I still ended up watching this. Maybe I didn't get some of the inside jokes linked to Red 1 but overall the story stands good on its own! Love the naive, silly wife character Sarah and the bad ass old lady character Victoria. Helen Mirren is in her 60s but she is so hot! Haha I wouldn't mind being her when I'm old. A good action comedy, I laughed a lot! Just a nice movie to have fun to.

Notice that I haven't been writing reviews for so long now! Not really reviews of the movie that I write more of my feelings lol, but I've been loving the cinema lately so maybe I should start doing them again!

Last stop for the day was Bing!. Had cakes, lasagna, spaghetti and coffee and talked till the shop closes. :)

Belated Birthday Dinner

Reunited and hung out a lot with this guy for the past three weeks I'm back home. :)

He took the effort to bring me out to celebrate my belated 21st birthday because according to him, a girl's 21st birthday is the most important birthday as it marks the transition into adulthood.

Had dinner at the new Chef At Home, which recently relocated from Hui Sing to Saberkas area. It is famous and known for its inexpensive good food. Used to be a garden restaurant outside a house, it is now a restaurant with the interior design very similar to The Big Oven located at Jalan Kereta Api.

Mushroom soup and garlic bread, Mixed Grill, a chicken breast dish (forgot the name) with two glasses of red wine.

Despite everything we went through, I'm happy we are still here like how we used to be today. :)

Presents from him were a bouquet of a dozen white roses, and a platinum necklace with a key pendant. Thank you thank youuuuu. :)))
