Taiwan Diary: Feng Chia Night Market 逢甲夜市

Wow it's been a month since my last update sorryyyyyy I didn't mean to neglect my lovely blog space. Anyways, do follow me on Dayre: kerynp! :D Two out of four papers for finals are done btw! Monday, Tuesday then I'm free from law school for 2 months. Taking a break from everything I'm now finally starting on my blog posts for Taiwan! So excited. :)

Tim, Tim's little sister Teri and I went to Taiwan together during our week-long Deepavali mid-semester break. Resolution to visit a new country this year, achieved. Yay! We arrived at Taiwan's Tao Yuan Airport 桃圆机场 at around 4 pm on the first day and traveled straight to Tai Chung 台中. Due to the colder seasons it was only 6-7pm+ but the sky looked as if it was 9-10 ish.

First destination was Feng Chia Night Market. :) Wasn't ready!

It was already autumn in Taiwan I looked forward to the chilly weather and expected it to be cold in the evening hence I was in my burgundy Mango chunky sweater and had my varsity standing by around my waist. To my disappointment, the temperature in Tai Chung that time was just a windier version of Malaysia at night. People were still in sleeveless clothes and shorts...

It was my first time in Taiwan but it felt familiar because I've seen these scenes on TV before. :)
Never seen this on TV before though! Was so tempted to try but I didn't. Too obscene lol.
Hi Teri!! :)
Feng Chia University.

Tried Stinky Toufu for the very first time in my life! I was reluctant but I gave it a try because it didn't smell as bad the ones we have here. I can't stand the smell of the stinky toufu offered here. Quite proud of myself actually.

If you visit here please try this stall the fried boneless chicken thigh is so so good! And their sauce was the best sauce and it was so good. So so good. I'm born in love with Mua Ji and here they also have this stall that sells Fried Mua Ji that I've never tried in my life. LOVE IT!

Then there was this upstairs area away from the noise and crowd, where many couples are dating at.

More pictures of the endless rows of street foods and crowds of people. Love this place. :)

I prefer this night market rather than Shi Lin 士林 or Tam Shui 淡水, which I will too blog about in the near future. But I don't think I represented Feng Chia well enough! Didn't take pictures of most of the food we ate and also the rows and rows of clothing store available here.

Our accommodation in Tai Chung was Le Parker Hotel 黎客商旅 and it is located only 5 minutes walking distance away from the night market. Hotel room was small but so cozy and the design of the bathroom was very classy. Look at how they creatively arranged the bathroom utilities. I do recommend this hotel if you are visiting Tai Chung in the future. :)

One of the pleasures during my Taiwan trip, similar to when I was in China, was to stay up watching the TV shows. :) What I love about foreign hotel TV- so many channels to choose from!

Rise and shine, first morning in Taiwan! :)

Breakfast offered at the hotel was not buffet styled but instead they gave us three menus to choose from, Porridge 清粥小菜, Pork Chop Burger 猪扒汉堡 and Prawn Chop(?) Sandwich 虾排三明治. We ordered a different set each and there were also self-service styled soup of the day, salads, french toast and drinks.

Post is getting long so I will stop here! Be back soon. :)

With all the love,
