My Favourite Food Places in KL

Today I will share with you guys my Top 5 food places during my time in KL. :)

I've tried not all of the restaurants and eateries in KL but I can say that I've tried quite a lot. I've narrowed it down into 5 of my favourites based on the fact that I've visited them numerous times and enjoyed their food every time I visit. The top 5 I mentioned in my post today are not in any specific order as I love all them equally.

1. Nando's

Nando's is a franchise restaurant that serves marinated grilled chicken. The concept is really simple but really effective and I love it. Tim and I usually go for the Full Platter which consists of whole chicken, 2 regular sides and 2 bottomless drinks and the meal costs around rm50-60. Although most of the people I know usually just go for the personal meal that is the Quarter Chicken meal.

There are 4 levels of spiciness you can choose to have for your chicken: from the mildest Lemon herb, Mild Peri-peri, Hot Peri-peri, to Super Hot Peri-peri. Towards the end we always have the hottest sauce for our chicken and then we would add more flavor with their Garlic sauce and Super Hot Peri-peri sauce.

Got Tim's permission to post this picture of us loving our food. :D

Brought Bev and Zac to try Nando's and let them try the chicken with Hot Peri-peri but to them it was too spicy. In the end they didn't really like the meal haha but I guess it depends on individuals.

So happy to hear that they have Nando's in the UK so yay more chicken for me when I go over. :)

2. IKEA Meatballs

IKEA serves meatballs that make every one go crazy over. The meatballs are served with jam and gravy and it's a really unique combination.

Every time we are over there the dining area would be packed with people.  I didn't understand why it's so popular at first, but the taste really grows onto you. There are also mash potatoes as sides but in the above for some reason the meatballs were served with fries. There are also a lot of choices to choose from such as salads, spaghetti and salmon steaks.

My first trip to Ikea with Tim. :)

One of the other trips with friends and we had a whole chicken.

3. Mitasu Japanese Restaurant

I've blogged about Mitasu here and here. Look at the thickness of the salmon sashimi slices! :)

I really enjoy my trips there because I think the food and the experience is really worth the price. A Japanese restaurant which provides ala carte buffet for only rm50+ per pax is hard to find in the city, and the quality of the food is really good as well. They provide almost all the delicacies you can find in a Japanese restaurant sadly, with the exception of eels and soft shell crabs.

My most recent trip to Mitasu was with a group of friends as well and we ordered more than usual YAY because more people are there to help finish the food. :) We booked for 6 and got ourselves a private room. In case you didn't know, you'll need to call to make an appointment before going over alright! It's full house at Mitasu almost every evening.

4. Upstairs Cafe

Upstairs Cafe is a western dinning place with a very nice ambiance and it serves classic western meals and nice desserts. They have this cozy theme going on with red and black furniture.

They serve Snapple here and it was my first time trying the pink lemonade. For mains, we got the Spaghetti Carbonara with Bacon and Cottage Pie with Salads.

Took these pictures the first time I was here. The restaurant's even prettier in the evening. :)

Love their chunky mushroom soup. The mains we had that evening were Spaghetto Bolognese and Lasagne. In my opinion their pastas are mediocre but I love their lasagne. I've had their lasagne on several occasions and it is really consistent.

And did I mention they have one of the best Red Velvet cake in town? The cream layer is not as thick as I would like it to be but it's delicious. :D

A picture of Tim from ages ago. :))

5. Italiannies

Haha I don't think you guys need me to even mention this. Read my love for Italiannies here. :)

And that's all for my Top 5, hope this gave you guys some idea as to where to eat the next time you visit KL! Also, tell me what your Top 5 is. I would love to try them if and when I'm back in KL. :)

With all the love,
