Spring is right around the corner but it's still freezing here in the UK especially Leeds which is relatively north. Recent temperatures in short: 7 degree Celsius but feels like -9. Can't wait for the warmer months to come! To bid farewell to winter, today I will blog about the snow day I enjoyed back in January. :D
Not feeling very myself lately and not as positive as I hope to be. Every thing in my life is going well, but somehow I just feel so overwhelmed by everything. I am overwhelmed by classes and work, overwhelmed by dance competition and rehearsals. And even though my time is always so occupied with activities, I feel so uninspired and unproductive. At the same time I feel like time is passing so fast and there are so many things I want to do, sometimes I just get upset after self-conflicts of whether or not I will be able to achieve them. I am not sure whether anyone can relate to what I'm saying lol but yea. I just want a throwback to a nice memory when Tim was here with me to cheer myself up hopefully. That was a period of time when I was most happy because I did not have to worry about school or the future or anything and just enjoy the moment with the person I love spending my time with. And hopefully I will snap out of this emo state soon and return to my usual cheerful self!
The view outside my window at around 3am one random night back in January. It was quiet out and so peaceful. The view of the snow was breathtaking. Tim was fast asleep beside me and I noticed heavy snow started to fall outside my window. I ended up standing by the window for not sure how long just staring at the falling snow and admired the scenery I had from my bedroom window. I remember feeling so contented with life thinking to myself, how blessed I am.
While this post is about another day. And it was memorable because: 1) Back in January, snow fell on many occasions but would stop before it could pile up. It was different though, that day. :) Snow was falling heavily and had no signs of stopping. So I brought Tim to a field around my neighbourhood just to play and take some pictures. On our way to the field, we got an Oreo milkshake to share and built a little snowman on the brick fence of a random house.
2) Once you played in the snow once, very unlikely you would want to play again till maybe next winter lol so yea. Must document this memory! Some pictures to sum up that beautiful snow day we had. :) When I first came to UK my aunt told me snowing gets old and sometimes you would wish it to not snow because the roads would get very wet and dirty and on snowy days you would feel lazy to go out and do anything. I thought back then, nope not gonna happen to me! Even though I still admire the beauty of snow, I eventually thought the same lol.
Other than childishly playing snow ball fights, which was unexpectedly painful lol, we built snow man as well. :) But the task was harder than you think! We made a small snowman and tried to make a bigger one. With a lot of effort, Tim rolled the snow into a gigantic snow ball which surprisingly could withstand my weight! But before we could proceed, it collapsed when I asked Tim to stand on it for a change haha so yea gigantic snowman mission failed.
After not sure how long in the snow, we decided to call it a day and head home because it was getting cold and note how wet my hair was after lol. Memorable day it was. :) Snow has been beautiful and the chilly weather has been appreciated but I'm ready for the warmer weather now so please come fast!

14th Feb 2015 marked our second Valentine's Day together. Super blessed! Will blog a short one about it. :)
Didn't manage to spend this year's together unlike last year because somehow Valentine's Day always fall on times when we're apart. If it weren't for Tim coming over to visit during last Valentine's both the Valentine's Days after we got together would've been spent apart lol I hope this do not become a trend for us. D: So anyway. Since we couldn't spend the actual day together, we decided to have an early celebration before Tim left UK. Brought him to this nice restaurant called Trio Headingley where we had our celebratory dinner.
I really love the restaurant because the atmosphere is always really nice and the staff really friendly. Plus the food was great! For starters we had a portion of cream of mushroom to share like we always do. :) Found the soup too salty for me but Tim really liked it. For mains we had the King Prawn and Crab Risotto and the Steak Melt Sandwich.

To my surprise, on the actual day I received this bouquet of roses in the mail. :')
It was a gorgeous bouquet of a dozen roses with very simplistic packaging which I really love. I uncontrollably burst into tears when I received it because I didn't expect to receive roses this year. People may say roses are impractical gifts but I'm a sucker for roses especially on Valentine's Day and I'm so lucky Tim understands that. It was too sweet of him! *heart melts*
And wraps up our Valentine's Day this year. Simple but meaningful. Love this man to bits. :)

Today I wanna write about the makeup that I use on a daily basis. :) In case you are wondering, no the intro picture is not my daily makeup but the makeup I had on during Chinese New Year eve. Oh and in case you didn't notice, I changed my hairstyle for CNY! :D Changed the parting of my hair and I now have shorter side-swept bangs.
As you all may know, I only do full face makeup when there are any special occasions to attend. But I do put on minimal makeup everyday and I wanna share with you guys the products that I use. :)
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in No. 20
Loreal Lucent Magique in N4
NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow
MAC Archie's Girls Veronica Opulash Mascara in Bad, Bad Black
Rimmel Color Rush in Keep Mauving
Sephora Eye brow kit
My foundation is the Loreal Lucent Magique. :) I bought it last year when I was in Taiwan as I was attracted to its rose gold packaging. My bottle is still quite full because I only use this on days when my skin is not at its best condition. I really like this because it is not thick and does not feel heavy on. It also has SPF 20 PA+++ which is a big thumbs up!
I cannot leave the house without drawing my eye brows and I am currently using this Sephora Eye Brow kit. You can tell that it's well-loved from all the scratches! I really like the black packaging with the Sephora logo on the front of it and when it's new it is really sleek. There is a light cool-toned brown, a darker reddish brown and a wax. It also comes with a mirror and separate compartment containing an angled brush, tweezers and a spoolie.
I don't do my mascara everyday but when I do I use my MAC mascara. :) It is limited edition from the Archie's Girls collection which I got as a gift from Mike on my birthday 2013 and it is my favourite mascara since. I really like it because it is really black and the brush has very compact bristles. The only down side is that the brush is quite big, so it can sometimes get onto the lids if not applied carefully. It's slowly drying up and I'm sad. But until then, this will be my go to mascara. The packaging is so cute though its not available anymore you can still get the Opulash Mascara from MAC!
This is the NYC Color Wheel in Pink Cheek Glow. I love blushes but on a casual day this is the one that I tend to reach for. :) It is made up of powder blocks of different shades of brown and pink and it is really versatile. If I want a pinkier blush I will concentrate my brush on the light pink blocks. If I want a more natural skin-toned blush then I will concentrate my blush on the darker pink blocks. Apart from it being versatile and very inexpensive, I also really like this as a blush because the color is not too intense so application is really simple. With this, I don't have to worry about putting on too much and ending up looking too crazy!
I really like lipsticks and I have a ton of them, but I really love the chubby sticks for daily use. They are the hybrid of lipsticks and lip balms so they have the pigmentation of lipsticks but the moisture level that of lip balms. They are loved because they are very low maintenance compared to a lipstick and you don't need a mirror to apply them.
My current favourite is the Rimmer Color Rush in Keep Mauving. :) The brown tube looks really underwhelming but the color is super pretty. It is a sheer berry toned lip balm and I love it for the autumn/ winter. I also have the Clinique Chubby Stick in the shade Mighty Mimosa which is a beautiful coral shade that I cannot wait to wear during the warmer months. I also have the Loreal Glam Shine in Sin for Peach which is a glittery pinky shade.
To wrap up this post, I will include the makeup remover that I'm currently using. It is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. :) It was recommended by the makeup YouTuber Lauren Curtis and I love it because it takes off makeup very easily. It is also very inexpensive!
That's all that I wanna share for today. Hope you find this post interesting and helpful!

Today I will post the pictures Tim and I took during our visit to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and then I will shortly wrap up our Day 3 in Amsterdam before flying back to UK. Good things always have to come to an end. This post is also the last part of my Europe trip with Tim. :)
My top is from HM btw. Rather than the conventional plaid shirt, the grid print on this shirt is a refreshing twist to the plaid design and is very on trend this year. Fell in love at once when I saw the shirt in store and knew right away I had to get it. I'm sure I will get a lot of wear out of this shirt. Also, gingham print is back on trend! Keep a look out for that. :D
The wax museum is located at Dam Square and it's a very huge and prominent building so I'm sure you'll be able to find it with no trouble. :) The entrance fee was around €20 each. It's quite pricey but it is worth the visit because the detailed work that went into making of the wax figures are impeccable and I had a lot of fun in the museum!
One thing to note is that there are Madame Tussaud museums all around the world, so do visit the ones in countries where you are more familiar with so you will get to see more familiar faces in the museum. Madame Tussauds London was our first choice but we didn't have enough time so we visited the one in Amsterdam instead. The one here houses a lot of international stars as well, but there are a lot of local artists and/or influential famous people we do not know of. So yeah, something to think about when you are deciding on which one to visit. :) Second picture is the view of Dam Square from the circle window about the Madame Tussaud sign.

Queen Elizabeth is right beside me but cropped her off haha
The super pretty and classy late Princess Diana.
"I just wanna feel real love~"
Tim said this one with ET is very pretty. I really like it too! :)
My best rendition of Marilyn Monroe LOL
Tim with three supermodels: Doutzen, Keryn and Elle Macpherson. LOL close enough okay
If the wax figures are life-sized, Adele should not be called big at all!!
She's thinner than me by comparison and has a really small face.
If you like it then put a ring on it!!
Madame Tussaud, the person who started it all. :)
With Bob Marley.
Didn't know he is Messi until being told lol. Not a football fan.
It's amazing how it really looked like the figures are staring right into the camera
Was just being silly but I love how this picture turned out ahhahaha
I laugh every time I see this too hahahaha
Most of the pictures we took there. Didn't post all else it'd be too many! Really enjoyed the visit. :D
Day 3 started with breakfast at a local coffee house. :) Had salmon and cheese sandwich (again) and latte while as usual, Tim forgot what his order was lol.
Then lunch was at this sandwich shop because the display successfully attracted our attention. Tried the traditional local pastry Gul Boregi with cheese. The texture is like pasta and it's really good!! A must try. :D
Tired face and messy hair with no effort in looking good for the last day haha. Went to Schiphol Airport at around 5pm, had Burger King and flew back to Leeds Bradford Airport via Jet2.com at 715 that evening.
The week-long trip was amazing. Travelling is a privilege and I cannot be thankful enough. :D So thankful also that Tim and I had the luxury of time and expense to go on this trip together. Travelling fund that I saved are spent on this trip so it's time to start saving up again! More travel adventures to come! Hope you enjoyed reading about my Europe trip as much as I enjoyed writing it. :)
